Michael Burka

Vice President, Sector Head (US Industrials )

Michael Burka is responsible for leading the research effort for the US industrials sector, focusing on energy and materials companies. In this capacity, he conducts top-down and fundamental analysis on the sector and makes portfolio recommendations to the co-portfolio managers. Prior to joining Calamos in in 2017, Michael was with Armature Capital Management, serving as an analyst covering the industrials sector for a long/short equity investment portfolio. Previously he spent five years at UBS O’Connor as a director focusing on the industrials sector for long/short equity portfolios. Michael’s industry experience of more than 20 years also includes tenures at North Sound Capital, Deutsche Bank – DB Advisors and Goldman, Sachs & Co. He holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
