Art Bascomb is responsible for leading the research effort for the U.S. consumer sector. In this capacity, he conducts top-down and fundamental analysis on the sector and makes portfolio recommendations to the co-portfolio managers. He joined the firm in 2018 and has 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Calamos, Art was a senior research analyst at Schroders, responsible for the U.S. consumer discretionary and consumer staples sectors for U.S. large cap companies. Prior to joining Schroders in 2016, Art was a senior research analyst at Prentice Capital Management, a consumer-only long/short hedge fund (2014-2016). From 2005 to 2013, he was a senior research analyst at Allianz Global Investors, responsible for U.S. and China consumer and internet names. Art began his investment career as a sell-side equity research associate at CIBC World Markets covering the consumer and household products sector (2002 to 2005). Previously, he was in institutional sales at Fidelity Investments and AIG SunAmerica. Art earned a B.A. from Arizona State University and an MBA in Finance from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in New York.
