Derek Olsen, CFA

Senior Vice President, Head of investment Operations and Information Technology, Co-Head of Risk Management

Derek Olsen has executive oversight and responsibility for technology infrastructure, application development, and information security, as well as all core middle-office functions, including portfolio administration, data management, trade processing and settlement, client reporting and invoicing, portfolio accounting, account performance and composite administration, and corporate actions administration, among others. He also serves as Co-Head of Risk Management and is  a member of the Calamos Investment Committee, which is charged with providing a top-down framework, maintaining oversight of risk and performance metrics, and evaluating investment process. He joined the firm in 2001 and has more than 30 years of industry experience.  Prior to joining Calamos, he served as vice president, director of capital management at CNA Financial. Previously, he held the same role at USF&G Corporation. He also has experience managing forex trading at Allied Irish Bank and Swiss Bank Corporation. He received a B.A. in Business Economics from Brown University.
