Following a series of quantitative screens tailored to each strategy, the investment team begins by analyzing a company's financial statements as if it were buying the entire company. After determining the "economic enterprise value" of a business, the team can more effectively define the potential value of the company's equity, debt and convertible securities—and whether they have a place in any of the Calamos portfolios based on their potential risk and reward, portfolio diversification goals and other criteria.
While this approach to investing works across multiple portfolios, risk management remains the cornerstone of each strategy Calamos Investments manages as we strive to maintain the appropriate balance between risk and reward throughout the entire market cycle.
