John Calamos, Sr. founded our predecessor company in 1977. Earlier in his career, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and ultimately earned the rank of major. A pioneer in the use of convertible security investment strategies to help manage risk, he is the author of two books about convertible securities and the author of numerous articles about asset management and economics. Calamos is a trustee of the Illinois Institute of Technology, is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the National Hellenic Museum in Chicago, and is a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago. Calamos received his undergraduate degree in economics and an MBA in finance from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago.

Gary Black previously served as Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and founding member of Black Capital, LLC. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Janus Capital Group from January 2006 through July 2009, and President and Chief Investment Officer from April 2004 to January 2006. Prior to joining Janus, Black was Chief Investment Officer of Global Equities at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), which he joined as a partner in June 2001. Prior to this role, Black headed GSAM's U.S. distribution efforts. Previously Black was Executive Vice President and head of Alliance Bernstein's global institutional business. He started his investment career in 1992 at Sanford C. Bernstein where he served as a senior research analyst and was named top analyst in his sector for six consecutive years. Black earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS Economics degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jim Boyne is responsible for executing Calamos’ business and strategic initiatives. He oversees Calamos’ operational and administrative infrastructure, as well as supports Calamos' distribution businesses and strategies. He joined Calamos in 2008 and has more than 20 years experience in the investment management business. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for McDonnell Investment Management, where he was responsible for the company's businesses and operations, including its legal and regulatory compliance programs. Boyne also had served as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Van Kampen Investments and was formerly an attorney with Jenner & Block. He earned a law degree from Illinois Institute of Technology's Chicago-Kent College of Law and a bachelor's degree in Marketing from Northern Illinois University.

Nimish Bhatt is responsible for all finance, accounting and tax areas of the company and of the Calamos funds. Before joining our predecessor company in 2004, he spent more than 20 years in accounting, tax and administration in the financial services industry. From 1996 to 2003, Bhatt worked for BISYS Investment Services, where he last served as senior vice president of alternative investment products, tax and quality assurance. Bhatt has a bachelor's degree in Advanced Accounting and Auditing and a law degree in Taxation from India's Gujarat University. He also has an MBA from The Ohio State University. Bhatt is a member of the Investment Company Institute's Accounting/Treasurer Committee and previously served as Chairman of the board of NICSA.
