Regional Associate

The Regional Associate will be a key member of the Calamos Investments sales department, and function as an Internal Wholesaler. The duties include creating an increased phone presence in an assigned region, or regions that complement the sales activities. The internal wholesaler will work closely with all Regional Directors and External Wholesalers in a coordinated fashion.

Responsibilities

Sales Activity Metrics

  • Meet sales goals as defined by Sales & Distribution Management, using activities such as phone contacts, phone time, email, conference calls and web casts.
  • Plan day and multi task outbound calls, projects, campaigns and incoming calls.
  • Create pipeline of Secondary Managed Account opportunities and share with manager on weekly basis.
  • Align calls with wholesaler activity and territory business plan.

Product Knowledge

  • Learn, know and be able to present all strategies & products.
  • Understand how  Calamos products compare to our competition.
  • Keep abreast of changes/updates on focus products, firms and platforms.

Territory Management

  • Responsible for enhancing and building upon Regional Director/Advisor relationships through effective proactive telephone calls and contact follow up.
  • Employ the use of third party databases such as Russell, CDA, and Morningstar Principia, to help provide sales solutions to advisors.
  • Consistently work to deepen existing relationships with financial advisors, divisional and regional representatives, and analysts to increase both our value added support to them and their sales to Calamos.
  • Use all available lists for contacting advisors (Newman, Anniversary, Redemptions, One Fund Only, conference attendees, etc.).
  • Continually reach out to advisors to cross-sell the strategies that they are not currently using.
  • Consistently ask for referrals or prospect off of top producer lists to find new advisor relationships.
  • Log all contacts each day as they are made in the CRM system, including: voicemails, literature, presentations, conference calls, etc.
  • Actively maintain database for accurate and current information on advisors and branch networks.
  • Work in concert with Regional Director with respect to the rotation for the region.

Education and Training - Call Evaluation

  • Be adept at asking questions and creating profiles of our clients and prospects.
  • Be responsible for product knowledge (such as information contained in the prospectus) and all marketing materials that support the sales effort.
  • Participate in meetings, call review sessions and coaching sessions and be prepared to both receive and deliver constructive feedback .
  • Responsible for positioning and differentiating our products against competitor firms and their products.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of work experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Candidates must have the professionalism to perform heavy phone work daily.
  • FINRA Series 7 & (63/65 or 66) required.
