Manager Employment - Sr. HR Generalist

The Employment Manager & HR Generalist is responsible for directing the recruiting process for the company.  This position coordinates plans for staffing, including college recruiting initiatives, and recruits positions throughout the firm.  This position also serves as a senior Human Resources relationship manager and works with assigned departments as a point of contact for human resources services.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops recruiting plans to assess short and long range staffing goals and ensures these plans align with the overall strategic plan.
  • Develops hiring objectives, strategies and profiles to meet the specific needs of each department.
  • Recruits and manages hiring process for all levels of positions and ensures that candidates meet position requirements.
  • Ensures that appropriate processes are in place to manage the intake of all people working at Calamos, including contractors, consistent with company policy any appropriate regulations.
  • Evaluates overall recruitment process and develops / acquires tools as necessary to improve effectiveness and efficiency of process.
  • Develop reports and assessment tools to evaluate quality of candidates and the recruitment process.
  • Works with the Compensation staff to obtain salary information for positions to ensure appropriate new hire pay and level based on internal and external assessment.
  • Maintains a recruiting requisition process to track positions and obtain approval signatures from management.
  • Manages HR generalist matters with assigned departments which may include employee relations, performance management, compensation, etc.
  • Manages projects as assigned that could include special surveys, topical area research such as talent management, etc.
  • Manages assessment survey vendors, administers surveys and  interprets results.
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state employment- related laws.
  • Develops and maintains a network of outside contacts including recruiters, agencies and professional organizations in order to help identify and source qualified candidates.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with area universities.
  • Assists with various Human Resources projects as assigned by the SVP and Director of Human Resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least 10 years of recruiting experience with at least 5 years recruiting experience in the financial services industry.
  • Solid background in Human Resources including employee relations, HR planning, compensation and benefits, plus expertise in at least one area of HR beyond recruiting.
  • Business partner mindset and experience with demonstrated results.
  • Results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent relationship building capability.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication and organizational skills.
