Part Time Security Officer

The Part Time Security Officer is responsible for performing security and public safety related duties that help ensure a safe and secure working environment for Employees and Visitors to all Calamos Properties. These duties are carried out through enhanced training, adherence to and enforcement of all policies and procedures along with a professional appearance and attitude. This position is also responsible for providing services and facilitating other functions, as outlined below.

Primary Responsibilities:

To monitor employee ingress and egress at access card entry and exit points ensuring that only authorized personnel are allowed into Calamos Properties.
To manage the guest registration system and ensure that all Visitors to Calamos Properties are checked in and referred to their destinations in a timely, polite and professional manner.
To stand guard at building guard stations, loading docks and other areas as required providing a necessary security presence.
To monitor and operate electronic security systems, including two way radios, cell phones, card access, site monitoring (alarm) and surveillance systems.
Generate regular security logs and incident reports.
Respond to emergencies that occur upon Calamos Properties (Medical, Fire, Etc.) .
Interface as required with police, fire department and emergency personnel.
Facilitate and assist in the building evacuation training program. C
Assist Building Response Teams in times of emergency.
Perform physical checks of Calamos Properties on either foot or in an assigned vehicle.
Manage the physical security of the loading dock, receiving area and storerooms. .
Confirm and log all inbound/outbound deliveries and shipments.
Assist in the inspection of all buildings and properties to verify compliance with all safety and security-related building codes.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum high school graduate.
The ability to read and write English fluently.
The ability to physically carry out all duties listed above.
The ability to obtain Ill State Security Licensing along with certifications in first-aid and CPR.
Work Experience: Previous experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Service or the Military is preferred.
