Institutional Portfolio Specialist
Calamos is currently offering an exciting career opportunity to highly qualified individuals who will communicate Calamos' institutional investment process and specific product strategies to new and existing institutional accounts.

By joining one of the most dynamic organizations in the industry, the Institutional Portfolio Specialist will develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Investment Team and serve as a key liaison between Investment Research and institutional clients. The Institutional Portfolio Specialist will also be responsible for effectively communicating the complexities of the investment process/product and will respond to client inquiries.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Portfolio Management in the preparation of attribution reports
- Assist Investment Communications in preparing Monthly and Quarterly reports
- Performance attribution for various investment strategies
- Investment strategy positioning in various consultant databases
- Articulate the investment process and specific product strategies to institutional clients and prospective clients
- Serve as a resource and product expert to Client Relationship Management
- Assist in competitive benchmarking and sales analysis of institutional accounts
- Active product positioning/differentiation within the institutional market place
- Assist in the RFP completion process by reviewing investment process and strategy related responses
- Provide analytical support to Investment Communications, Business and Product Development, and Strategic Planning
Education
An undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Math and a CFA are required. Graduate work in Business, Finance or Economics preferred.
Experience
- Significant industry experience (minimum of 7+ years in financial services industry)
- Prior institutional communication/marketing /product management/client relationship experience is required
- Prior experience in Research/Portfolio Management or a strong understanding of the investment industry
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively communicate with senior members of: Institutional Clients, Investment Team, Marketing, Sales, and Client Relationship Management
- Strong analytical and organizational skills (ability to prioritize tasks/assignments)
- Fluency with required tools (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, and Excel)
