Benedictine University Great Issues-Great Ideas Speaker Series

Calamos Investments is proud to continue the exclusive corporate sponsorship of Benedictine University's Great Issues-Great Ideas Speaker Series for 2007. The Richard C. Becker Great Issues-Great Ideas Lecture Series began in 1995 as an issues-oriented program, providing thought-provoking and lively discussions regarding the nature of the state of the Union, race, peace and adventures in space. Through the years, the series has evolved into a renowned program featuring American heroes, prominent world leaders and inspirational religious personalities.

In 2006, Benedictine University hosted former U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell. Powell gave a talk entitled "Diplomacy: Persuasion, Trust and Values," which left attendees inspired. Past speakers include former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Benedictine University and Calamos Investments are in collaboration to select yet another preeminent speaker for this year's event. More information on the speaker and event dates will be available soon.
