Steve Bassett

Senior Credit Analyst, Fixed Income

As a senior high yield analyst, Steve Bassett’s responsibilities include identifying, recommending and monitoring securities for our credit portfolios. He utilizes all aspects of credit analysis, including financial modeling, communicating with management teams, and developing a thorough knowledge of the covenants and structures of the securities in his coverage universe. Steve Bassett contributes more than 20 years of investment industry experience. Prior to joining Calamos in 2017, he served as a senior analyst and partner at Castle Hill Asset Management (2011-2016). In this role, he was responsible for technology, media and telecom security selection and trade recommendations across leveraged loans, high yield bonds, CDS and equities for a $2.5 billion AUM asset manager focused primarily in the US and Europe. From 2007-2010, Steve served at Neuberger Berman as a senior vice president of leveraged asset management. Earlier in his career, he worked at ORIX Finance as a director of leveraged finance and at National City Bank as a vice president of debt capital markets (sales and training). Steve holds an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, where he was a finance major. He graduated cum laude from Florida State University with a BS in Finance and a minor in Economics.
