As the global warming debate continues to heat up, innovative companies are increasingly focusing on how they impact their communities and the environment.
Calamos Investments' state-of-the-art headquarters at 2020 Calamos Court, Naperville, Ill., 60563, is a testament to the firm's ongoing commitment to innovation and the environment. Everything from the building's green roof and use of natural daylight to the site's storm water retention and erosion control features provide its employees and community an eco-friendly facility.
Completed in 2005, it's one of the first privately developed buildings in the Chicago area to be registered with the U.S. Green Building Council for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
In 2007, the Calamos headquarters has received these accolades:
- Merit Award for New Construction in the Suburbs by the Chicago Building Congress 2007 "for distinctive design, outstanding construction, and a positive impact on the surrounding community."
- National Green Roofs Award of Excellence from the Green Roof for Healthy Cities for "a green roof project which exhibited extraordinary leadership in integrated design and implementation."
